While everyone (myself included) oohs and aahs over the latest and greatest range-topping gear, in order for manufacturers to provide a return on expensive R&D and pay off costly tooling it’s not uncommon to find much the same performance a step or two down the range. Though their top of the line 280g/$400 per wheel MT8 disc brakes clearly stole the show, at Interbike the guys at Magura were just as jazzed about the closely related MT6s- and offered to send a set out for our Project 24.2 build.

Coming in at 310g for a front brake with a 160mm Storm SL rotor and hardware, the MT6 saves $100 per wheel over the MT8. What’s given up for a 25% savings? The MT6 goes without the MT8′s carbon bar clamp and lever blade and a bit of caliper machining (which we’re told should make the brake a shade stiffer). The headline grabbing Carbotecture thermoplastic lever body/master cylinder remain, though. Does the MT6 perform as well on the trail as on the scale? Cooperation with aerodynamics expert Cervélo
MAGURA streamlined the RT8 TT in collaboration with the aerodynamics expert Cervélo using a wind tunnel. The brake bodies are shaped aerodynamically and the hydraulic lines are hidden inside the tubes. The ultra-stiff brake levers form part of the wing profile.

RT8 TT celebrates premier in 2012
For the 2012 season, the RT8 TT will be incorporated exclusively into the Cervélo P5 time trial machine. The new RT8 TT is approved by the International Cycling Union (UCI). It will premier in the middle of March at the Ironman in Australia. As sponsor of the Garmin-Barracuda team, MAGURA will also launch the RT at the Tour de France time trial.

Other RT8 TT models
As well as the triathlon brake RT8 TT, the road bike RT8 converter will also make an appearance in 2012. There will also be a cheaper version of both models – the RT6 TT and the RT6 converter.

On va finir par y passer au multiplexage !!   

un bouton, t'appuie dessus et t'a la fourche, amorto, tige de selle et pneus en configuration trail/descente, ça monte? un clic et la config change, nous sommes déjà un peu dedans entre les suspensions électronique, la tige de selle avec thomson, les transmissions.....

Oui mais chez la concurrence aussi !! peu importe le nombre de piston, c'est surtout le diamètre qui importe, chez shimano, tu prends le deore ou SLX comparer au XT y'a pas photo, les deux premiers sont fait en Malaisie (même si au demeurant ils font de bonnes choses) avec piston en acier, les XT handmade in JAPAN avec leurs pistons céramique t'arraches les poils du fion   

En moto aussi je n'ai que deux piston, et pourtant les pinces brembo t'arrache les bras pour faire des stoppies !!!!   

Il est vrai qu'a 380€ les MT8 ce n'est pas donné   et pourtant j'en connais qui en ont c'est pour dire !
